 Moving
Hi there
I run my own torrent site, and have always been a joomla fan, so this was really interesting... now, since my site is established, and I don't want to start from scratch, is there a way of migrating my installation (xbtit v.2.0.0 - revision 559) to your frontend?
Hope that's not vague - basically, my tracker runs off xbtit v.2.0.0 - revision 559 and I'd like to know whether it's possinble to shift it to your com.
Thanks in advance. M

 Re: Moving
I guess it's possible. The only possible problem I can see is the user password encryption.
The component uses the normal xbtt tables with some values changed. I guess xbtit also does the same.

 Re: Moving
I'll install this on a parallel installation and give it a whirl... so what would I do? I'm not a huge IT tech head, so would I install a clean version of joomla, then install your com, and drop the sql db from my existing installation onto that replacing data? would that work?

 Re: Moving
You can try to export and import the database. Just do some tests and check the table fields. I believe there are some differences between the tables.

I'll check for differences - I just hope that once the fields have been identified and modified, this will work... I'll keep people posted of my progress (or failures - I hope not) so that others with similar situations can follow.

If you find any issues please tell me. And if you need help I can also try to migrate it. I just need access to a test database.

That would be much appreciated - how can I share my two dbs with you? My existing one for jooma (new installation) and my existing torrent one - maybe I'll just export them, zip them and PM you a d/load link - would that work? Thanks. M
